January 9th, 2025 Srisavarindhira Thai Red Cross Institute of Nursing Welcomes Administrators, Faculty, and Graduate Students from Tokyo, Japan

Sri Srisavarindhira Thai Red Cross Institute of Nursing warmly welcomed a distinguished delegation from St. Luke International University, Tokyo, Japan. The visiting group was led by Professor Dr. Tomoko Kamei, Dean of the School of Nursing, accompanied by faculty members and graduate students. Representing the Thai institution were Dr. Vilailert Komton, Vice President for International Affairs, Digital Technology, and Institute Council Affairs, along with Associate Professor Dr. Tassanee Natset, Dean of the Graduate School, and Associate Professor Dr. Jonphachong Phengjad, Program Chair for the Master of Nursing Science in Adult and Geriatric Nursing. Faculty members involved in the curriculum included Assistant Professor Dr. Rossukon Waritsakul, Assistant Professor Dr. Araya Jaranukul, Assistant Professor Dr. Panicha Boonsawad, Dr. Anchalee Ngamwittayaroje, Assistant Professor Dr. Temduang Boonpiamsak, and Lecturer Athitaya Kaenkrai. They were joined by Chulaluk Jaipang and Kulthida Ketkaew, both members of the International Relations Committee. The purpose of the visit was to exchange knowledge in geriatric and pediatric nursing and to discuss potential collaboration on the graduate-level nursing curriculum.

Throughout the event, Professor Dr. Tomoko Kamei shared research on elderly care, focusing on Long-term Care for Older Adults with Chronic Conditions via Telenursing. In addition, Assistant Professor Dr. Rossukon Waritsakul, Lecturer Athitaya Kaenkrai, and Assistant Professor Dr. Temduang Boonpiamsak presented their research on elderly care and pediatric nursing, fostering valuable discussions. The event also included academic exchange activities, allowing graduate students from both institutions to interact and share knowledge.

From 14:00 to 15:00, the delegation was led by Assistant Professor Dr. Panicha Boonsawad, Lecturer Dr. Bualan Hinkaew, and Lecturer Kulthida Ketkaew on a visit to the Bangkae Elderly Care Center. There, they observed elderly care practices, gaining insights into local caregiving approaches. The group was warmly welcomed by Ms. Sutthirat Tochanop, Director of the Bangkae Elderly Care Center.

The day culminated from 17:00 to 19:00 with the delegation from St. Luke International University participating in the Institute’s New Year celebration. This event provided an opportunity for cultural exchange, further strengthening the ties between the faculty and graduate students of both institutions.

These interactions and collaborative efforts are expected to lay the foundation for the development of a joint Master of Nursing Science curriculum between the two institutions.
